Spring Wedding Magic - Lucy and Joe

Spring set the perfect scene for Joe and Lucy’s beautiful wedding here at our exclusive countryside barn. With greenery beginning to bloom across the surrounding fields, the couple embraced the season completely, designing and creating their own stunning spring-bloom themed décor which filled the barn with colour, joy and a wonderfully personal touch. From handmade floral details to thoughtful styling (our fave being the high heel garage!) throughout the space, every element reflected their vision. The couple had spent a year gathering beautiful vintage glass bud vases from charity and antique shops, the end result of scattered bud vases was spectacular! In this blog, we catch up with bride Lucy to talk about the planning behind their big day, the inspiration for their décor, and some of the special moments that made their celebration truly unforgettable.

Lucy - We first heard about The Oaks through word of mouth and also came across it on Instagram.

Our first visit to the barn was unforgettable – my husband was instantly taken by the beautiful wood finishes and the charm of the log barn. It felt so warm and welcoming. We attended two wedding fayres at the venue, which were fantastic for helping us visualise the day and decide on the kind of wedding we wanted.

Our inspiration came from the idea of a spring wedding. We wanted the look to reflect the natural beauty of the barn, so we went for lots of greens and pops of colour that brought the venue to life while still feeling fresh and romantic.

For a more sociable dining experience, we chose the BBQ for a fun and filling wedding breakfast then enjoyed pizzas later on in the evening – we wanted the day to feel relaxed and informal.

To entertain our guests we chose TCK Entertainment as our DJ and they absolutely nailed it. We asked for a mix of R&B and house music – our favourite genres – and the dance floor was packed all night.

The most memorable moment was walking down the aisle and seeing each other for the first time surrounded by all our loved ones.
